Gov. Pat Quinn earned $201,066 and paid close to $46,000 in income taxes last year, according to returns released by his office Friday.

The earnings figure is a decrease from 2010 as the governor paid thousands more in state income taxes during the first year of a 67 percent individual rate hike he signed into law.

In 2010, Quinn paid about $4,400 in state taxes, while in 2011 the figure was $7,750.73.

His total earnings come from his $157,321.60 salary as governor and $42,500 from a retirement plan, in addition to smaller interest totals and tax refunds.

Records show Quinn also paid $3,938 in property taxes on his home in Chicago and gave $11,562.72 to charity.
