OAKBROOK TERRACE — Oakbrook Terrace Mayor Tony Ragucci is giving a different spin on a Sept. 10 verbal run-in in a parking lot than was presented in an online account by the woman who was involved.

Under the heading, “I was just verbally assaulted by the Oakbrook Terrace Mayor. Anything I Can Do?” Robin Komie wrote they had a heated verbal exchange in the parking lot of Pete’s Fresh Market, 17W675 W. Roosevelt Road.

Ragucci confirmed he had parked across two parking spaces, but said the verbal exchange that ensued wasn’t accurately reported online by Komie.

“It’s a private business; the only person who can tell me where I can’t park is the owner,” Ragucci said. “I did park in two spaces; the lot was nearly empty. I have a nice car and wanted to be careful.”

Ragucci said a Komie drove by and commented about him having parked across two spaces, while gesturing at him with her middle finger in the air.

“I said, ‘You’re going to give me the finger over this?” he said. “She was swearing at me, so I had a few words for her.”~.
