OAK BROOK — Firefighters called to Midwest Club Friday morning found fire in a ceiling area of the theater in a two-story home.

The department responded to a general alarm in the 1900 block of Midwest Club, arriving to find no smoke and residents out of the house. Firefighters discovered light smoke while walking the premises, and entered the home, finding heavier smoke in the theater room.

The fire was extinguished at 10:54 a.m. with no reported injuries. Firefighters took time to be sure the fire had not spread in the ceiling area of the lower level.

The fire is being investigated by Oak Brook fire investigators and the cause is undetermined at this time.

The Oak Brook Fire Department was assisted by General Alarm Companies from York Center, Oakbrook Terrace, Hillside and Westchester.
