Oak Brook citizens group schedules meetings about possible new school
Outreach sessions schedule
Feb. 16: 10 a.m.-noon and 2-4 p.m. for residents of Brook Forest, Old Oak Brook, York Woods, and Midwest Club
Feb. 23: 10 a.m.-noon for residents of Saddlebrook, Ginger Creek, Trinity Lakes, and Hunter Trails
March 2: 2-4 p.m. for residents of Breakenridge, Oak Brook Hills, Covington Court, Forest Gate, Fullersburg Woods, Wendell Woods, West Oak Brook, Briarwood, and Midwest Chase
March 9: 10 a.m.-noon for residents of Chateaux Woods, Oak Brook Club, Robin Hood Ranch, Timber Trails, Heritage Oaks, and Forest Glen
March 16: 10 a.m.-noon for residents of Gateway, Yorkshire Woods, Oak Brook Lakes, and Woodside Estates
March 23: 2-4 p.m. for all homeowners’ associations

OAK BROOK — A newly-formed citizens group has scheduled a series of seven outreach sessions in an effort to provide information about two April 9 referendums.
All of the outreach sessions are being held at the Oak Brook Public Library, 600 Oak Brook Road.
As space at the library is limited, representatives of Citizens for a Better Oak Brook is asking interested residents to register in advance to attend any of the seven sessions.

Along with the outreach sessions at the library, additional meetings will be available for smaller groups, said Jim Pehta, co-chairman of Citizens for a Better Oak Brook.
“We have plans to meet with both individual neighborhoods and local clubs so that we provide multiple outreach platforms of information for voter education,” he said.
The group also plans to use yard signs, tree ribbons, Facebook, and direct mail to help support the referendums, Pehta said.
“One of our stated goals is to help build a new 50-year educational plan for the village of Oak Brook under these referendum proposals and the ‘One Oak Brook’ concept for all the children of Oak Brook,” he said.
Pehta said the group is creating a website, www.ABetterOakBrook.com, to provide additional information on its goals, as well as an email address, ABetterOakBrook@gmail.com, to help answer questions.
