Oak Brook crime briefs: $15,000 worth of silver statues stolen

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the area police departments.

Oak Brook

BURGLARY

  • Miscellaneous jewelry was reported stolen at 5:43 p.m. Sept. 10 from a home on the 100 block of Crab Apple Lane. A sliding door on the back of the home was broken to gain entry.

PROPERTY DAMAGE

  • Several traffic signs were reported spray painted at 9:45 a.m. Sept. 11 near North Adams Street and Cheval Drive.

RETAIL THEFT

  • Two unknown women took merchandise priced at $290 and then returned it for a store credit at 4:26 p.m. Sept. 13 at Land of Nod, 35 Oakbrook Center.

Oakbrook Terrace

HIT-AND-RUN

  • A 2001 Mitsubishi was struck and damaged by a silver Chevrolet Malibu driven by an unknown person at 9:20 a.m. Sept. 13 on the 17W500 block of Roosevelt Road.

THEFT

  • Sixteen silver statues valued at $15,000 were reported stolen between 6 p.m. Sept. 7 and 2:25 p.m. Sept. 10 during a move from the 17W100 block of Elder Lane to the 17W100 block of 16th Street.
