Police Blotter: Sears employee steals $5 from register; Charged with theft

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Oak Brook and Oakbrook Terrace police departments. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

Oak Brook

BATTERY

A 50-year-old Oak Brook woman was charged with domestic battery at 9:34 p.m. July 23 at a home on 3000 block of Lincoln Road.

THEFT

Elizabeth Delacruz-Alverez, 26, of 421 S. York Road, Bensenville, was charged under local ordinance with retail theft at 4:36 p.m. July 24 after stealing a pair of sandals from Sears, 2 Oakbrook Center.

Katarina P. Puga, 19, of 2532 Euclid Ave., Berwyn; and Juliano R. Luna, 18, of 1348 S. Highland Ave., Berwyn, both were charged under local ordinance with retail theft after taking merchandise priced at $50 and $25, respectively, from Sears, 2 Oakbrook Center.

Kameal M. Edwards, 23, of 1227 N. Avers Ave., Chicago, was charged with theft at 2:26 p.m. July 24 after taking $5 from a cash register at Sears, 2 Oakbrook Center. Edwards was an employee of the store.

Oakbrook Terrace

ALCOHOL

Juan Chavez, 59, of 5127 W. 24th St., Cicero, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while license suspended at 8:51 p.m. July 28 at Roosevelt Road and Salt Creek.

Cameron Courter, 26, of 13220 Maple Ave., Lemont, was charged with DUI at 3:34 a.m. July 25 at Illinois Route 83 and Hodges Road.

Delores M. Moore, 56, of 3710 W. Polk St., Chicago, was charged with DUI at 6:02 a.m. July 24 at Roosevelt and Butterfield roads.

Beverly J. Madrid, 56, of 11060 Baton Court, Westchester, was charged with DUI and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident at 5:46 p.m. July 24 at Roosevelt Road and Summit Avenue.

DRUGS

Domini M. Carson, 31, of 1164 Brookstone Drive, Carol Stream, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia at 4:03 p.m. July 25 at Roosevelt Road and Summit Avenue.

LEAVING ACCIDENT SCENE

Paul Supena, 50, of 948 Kent Ave., Elmhurst, was charged with leaving the scene of a personal injury accident at 7:50 p.m. July 27 at Illinois Route 83 and Butterfield Road.

THEFT

Marquel Gordon, 22, of 2316 S. 18th Ave., Broadview, was charged with theft at 11:06 a.m. July 24 after taking $800 from a cash register at Home Depot, 17W734 22nd St. Gordon was an employee at the store.~.
