1. “The Matchmaker” will be presented by GreenMan Theatre Troupe at 7:30 p.m. May 4-5 and 2 p.m. May 6 in Asbury Hall at the First United Methodist Church, 232 S. York, Elmhurst. Widower Horace Vandergelder, a successful businessman in turn-of-20th-century New York, decides it’s high time to get married again. 3. Sinfonietta Bel Canto presents “Viva Italia” at 3 p.m. May 6 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 5211 Carpenter St., Downers Grove. The concert features two one-act comic operas — Antonio Salieri’s “Arlecchinata Pasticcia” (“Little Harlequinade Medley”) and Ermanno Wolf-Ferrari’s “Il Segreto di Susanna” (“Susanna’s Secret”). Both operas will be semi-staged and sung in Italian with English sur-titles. Tickets are $17; $14 seniors; $7 students; free for children under 7 accompanied by a parent. 4. Craft Brews & Chicago Blues Festival, 1-5 p.m. May 5 at Pheasant Run Resort, 4051 E. Main St., St. Charles. The event feature tastings of beer from 25 micro-craft breweries, samples of foods that pair well with beer, and live blues music by Kevin Purcell & the Nightburners.
