Aging Care Sports Ball to benefit seniors

Aging Care Connections will hold its 11th annual Sports Ball Benefit Gala on May 5 beginning at 6 p.m. at Harry Caray’s at the Westin Hotel, 70 Yorktown Center in Lombard.

Celebrity athletes who will be attending include Brent Sopel, a member of the Blackhawks 2009-10 Stanley Cup championship season, Kurt Becker of the 1985 Super Bowl Bears, Heisman Trophy winner John Lattner, and Ken Geiger, former scout with the Bears, Dutchie Caray, former Blackhawk Troy Murray with more still being added.

Other activities include tailgate cocktails, skybox dining featuring a surf and turf dinner, auctions and dancing. Guests will have the opportunity to meet and greet the celebrity athletes who will sign autographs and answer questions about their careers with major league teams.

ABC-Channel 7 Chicago sports reporter Rafer Weigel will host the event. Tickets are $150 each. Sports Ball is Aging Care Connections’ major fundraising event held to support the organization’s social service programs assisting those 60 years of age and older in suburban Cook County.
