Medicine Ball

The Women’s Board of the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago will host their annual Medicine Ball on May 12 at the Peninsula Chicago, 108 E. Superior St., Chicago. This year’s theme is Return to Havana. Tickets are $600 per person. For more information, call (312) 238-6023 or visit ric.org.

Party for the Parade

The Make-A-Wish Foundation will hold The Wish Ball 2012 featuring cocktails at 6 p.m. and a seated dinner at 7:30 p.m. May 12 at the University of Illinois at Chicago Forum, 725 W. Run Like a Mother

Bridge Communities, a DuPage County Organization that helps homeless families transition from homelessness to self-sufficiency, will hold Run Like a Mother at 8:30 a.m. May 13 in downtown Hinsdale. For Scottie

A Night Out For Scottie will take place from 7 to 11 p.m. May 18 at Robert E. Coulter Jr. America Legion Post 1941, 900 S. La Grange Road in La Grange. The evening will feature food, entertainment, a raffle and silent auction. Proceeds benefit La Grange resident Scott Bocek who is living with Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis. Tickets are $30. Party for Pillars

Pillars, a La Grange-based mental health and social service agency, will be hosting Party for Pillars: 30 Days, 20 Parties 1 Cause, a month-long celebration throughtout June. There will be a variety of parties, events and happenings, including Mad Men Martini Party, Pilates for Pillars, a mini-house tour and a concert by the all-male collegiate a cappella group from Indiana University, Another Round (formerly Straight No Chaser). Luminescence

The Shedd Aquarium will hold the black-tie gala Luminescence from 6 p.m. to midnight June 9 at John G. Shedd Aquarium, 1200 S. Lake Shore Drive, Chicago.
