The 25th anniversary Alzheimer’s Association Chicago Rita Hayworth Gala, held May 12 at the Hilton Chicago, raised more than $1 million for Alzheimer’s Association care, support and research programs.

The evening’s theme, Lights, Camera, Glamour, was a salute to the style of the silver-screen legend. Dawn Hasbrouk of FOX-Chicago opened the evening’s presentation as the guest emcee, introducing Steering Committee Gala Chair, June D. Barnard, and Alzheimer’s Association President and CEO, Harry Johns.

“This silver anniversary event truly honored the grace and glamour of Rita Hayworth while raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s disease,” said Barnard.

The event opened with a cocktail reception and music by Peter Oprisko singing from traditional pop standards. Guests enjoyed a three-course meal, program, auctions and dancing to the sounds of Lynne Jordan and the Shivers.

Local Hinsdale retailers that donated items included Zazu, Fullers Car Wash, King Keyser, Toni’s, Nabuki, Il Poggilio, Stockholm Objects, Hinsdale Fruit Store and Hinsdale Flower Shop.
