Hinsdale South and Central high schools have transitioned to a paperless report card system through each high school’s website.
Quarter and semester report cards are now available through the home access center website established by District 86. Report cards have been available on the website for some time, but the district will now only provide hard copies of grades if requested.
“This is the first time for both schools,” said Hinsdale South principal Brian Waterman. “We had talked with our parents at the end of last year and the beginning of this year.
“We kind of phased (the paper report cards) out.”
The home access center link is available on both Hinsdale Central and Hinsdale South’s website. Parents will need to log in with their username and password.
Waterman said parents were notified in the last paper report cards mailed out at the end of the last school year that the district would begin providing report cards electronically through the home access center. Parents can see their children’s grades and attendance, and contact teachers through the website.
“We’re trying to reduce our footprint and save some costs related to postage and mailings,” Waterman said. “Starting with this reporting period, we’re no longer mailing them home.”
If a hard copy is necessary, the district asks parents to contact Marge Ida at mida@hinsdale86.org and request a hard copy be made available.
