West Suburban Chiefs honor La Grange’s top cop

La Grange police chief to receive award
The West Suburban Chiefs of Police Association announces that La Grange Police Chief Mike Holub will be the recipient of the 2012 Illinois State Bar Association’s Law Enforcement Award for Distinguished Service.
The award will be presented by David Anderson, associate executive director of the Illinois Bar Association on Monday at the La Grange Village Board meeting. Chief Holub was nominated by Judge Russ Hartigan.
Riverside Police Chief Thomas Weitzel, president of the West Suburban Chiefs of Police Association stated, “Chief Holub’s record of commitment and contribution to the village of La Grange, West Suburban Chiefs of Police Association and the greater Cook County area is greatly appreciated. He is highly respected within the enforcement community statewide and I am honored to call Chief Holub a friend and mentor.”
The Distinguished Service Award is intended to recognize sworn law enforcement personnel for conduct that promotes justice and to distinguish individuals whose service to the public brings honor and respect to the criminal justice system.
Chief Holub is a past president for the West Suburban Chiefs of Police and serves on the agency’s Executive Board.
The West Suburban Chiefs of Police Association membership includes 35 police agencies in Cook and DuPage counties, the Cook County Sheriff’s Police and the FBI.
