WESTERN SPRINGS — Drivers on Ogden Avenue should watch their speed on Tuesday, Aug. 14. Because other people will be.

Police agencies from Kendall, Kane, DeKalb, LaSalle, DuPage and Cook counties will conduct heightened traffic enforcements throughout the day.

The main objective of the campaign, according to the Western Springs Police Department, is to increase the safety of motorists and pedestrians who use Ogden Avenue by providing enhanced public education and enforcement.

Western Springs officers will aggressively enforce the speed limit, seat-belt use and crosswalk laws, including a pedestrian crosswalk between Interstate 294 and Wolf Road that has been a focus of concern.

Residents are also reminded to drive defensively, put down cellular phones and slow down.
