OAKBROOK TERRACE — A special exhibit about the black bear is on display through March 3 at the Lake View Nature Center, 17W063 Hodges Road.

The exhibit includes a black bear mount along with opportunities to crawl into a bear den, compare senses to those of a bear, and feel bear fur.

The exhibit is open during regular hours of the nature center, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and noon to 4 p.m. weekends. The nature center is closed the first Monday of each month. Admission is free.

The Lake View Nature Center has created a special winter exhibit for display in February and March since 2005. Focusing on a different theme each year, the exhibits incorporate interactive displays, hands-on exploration, informative signage, and, in some cases live animals.
