OAK BROOK — A new Oak Brook citizens group has invited candidates for the April Village Board election to Oak Brook Candidates Night from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 28 at the Oak Brook Public Library, 600 Oak Brook Road.

Jim Pehta, co-chairman of Citizens for Oak Brook said the candidate forum would focus on two referendums.

One referendum asks all Oak Brook voters whether the village can sell Sports Core property to Butler Elementary District 53. A second referendum will ask District 53 for approval to sell $15 million in bonds to help fund the building of a new school. About two-thirds of Oak Brook residents live in District 53.

The moderator for the forum will be Chris Robling, who has extensive experience as a radio and television commentator.

A limited number of seats will be available for the candidates forum. Pehta said those interested in attending can register to get a reserved seat at www.abetteroakbrook.com.
