HINSDALE — The African musical group, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, entertained students at Monroe School in Hinsdale on Valentine’s Day. Members of the Grammy Award-winning singing group taught the children songs and dance moves during their two performances at the school.
Ladysmith Black Mambazo was in town for a performance at the Old Town School of Music in Chicago and agreed to come to Monroe School after learning about the year-long study of South Africa the students are doing this year. In addition to making their own albums, Ladysmith Black Mambazo has recorded with Paul Simon, Josh Groban, Stevie Wonder, Melissa Etheridge and other singers.
