OAK BROOK — A move this spring of its corporate operations to Downers Grove doesn’t mean Advocate Health Care is abandoning Oak Brook.
The state’s largest health system will be using the Oak Brook office it owns for a new central business office at 2025 Windsor Drive.
“Advocate made its decision to turn its Oak Brook campus into a CBO, after reviewing 50 different sites across the state,” said Stephanie Johnson, Advocate’s director of public affairs and marketing.
The central business office will combine all of Advocate’s Chicago-area patient access/registration and patient accounting operations into a single department.
The move to Downers Grove includes 430 employees from Oak Brook along with 150 from a Park Ridge office, Johnson said. The new central business office in Oak Brook will be home to about 350 employees.
The new space in Downers Grove is 139,470 square feet, more than the space in Oak Brook of about 105,000 square feet.
Advocate Health Care has been headquartered in Oak Brook since forming in 1995. The company was formed with the merger of Evangelical Health Systems, which was based in the Oak Brook, and Lutheran General Health System, which was headquartered in Park Ridge.~.
