Hinsdale Center for the Arts has funds available for regranting to support arts programs throughout its service region, including all of DuPage County and portions of Western Cook County as well as Lyons Township High School District 204. The Community Arts Access Program is funded by the Illinois Arts Council with matching funds from HCA.
As the established regional arts institution of Chicago’s western suburbs, the center grants funds through this program to assist local not-for-profit arts, educational and community organizations in their efforts to develop and present arts programs to their communities.
HCA will distribute funds in support of visual and performance arts programs with an emphasis on reaching underserved populations and at-risk youth.
Grants are awarded to not-for-profit organizations incorporated in Illinois, or governmental agencies in the service area. Eligibility is limited to organizations that are non-sectarian, non-discriminatory, and in which membership is afforded without regard for race, religion, sex, age, orientation or national origin, and which provide equal access to the disabled.
Forty percent of HCA’s total regrant funds available for awards must be awarded to projects that serve and involve audiences defined as underserved: minority/tribal, older adults, people with disabilities, low income persons, children with limited access to the arts, and other groups that can be proven as underserved in the regrant region.
Grant applications and additional information is available online at www.hinsdalearts.org or by visiting the center during normal business hours at Katherine Legge Memorial Park, 5903 S. County Line Road in Hinsdale. All applications must be received in total by Feb. 1.
