Cousins Rowan Flood and Jack Flood will share a special bond throughout their lives: They were delivered by the same doctor at the same hospital just one day apart.

Rowan Avery Flood, a girl, was born at 2:42 a.m. May 9, weighing 7 pounds, 9 ounces. Jack Christy Flood, a boy, was born at 6:20 a.m. May 10, weighing 10 pounds, 4 ounces.

During their pregnancy, their moms joked that it would be funny if they went into labor the same day but they didn’t think it would happen because their due dates were more than two weeks apart. Yet that’s what happened when Rowan arrived more than a week early and Jack came more than a week late.

Both were delivered by Dr. Steven Daube at Adventist Hinsdale Hospital.

Rowan’s parents are Chris and Allison Flood of Lockport. Chris is a firefighter/paramedic for the Lemont Fire Protection District and Allison is a stay-at-home mom.

Jack’s parents are Joe and Lesley Flood of La Grange. Joe is a sound engineer and Lesley works for an Internet advertising company.
