Student music
groups perform

The student music groups at College of DuPage will perform throughout May at the McAninch Arts Center on the Glen Ellyn campus, 425 Fawell Blvd, Glen Ellyn.

All performances are on the MAC Mainstage, unless otherwise noted.

The college’s music department boasts a variety of music ensembles. Following is a list of performances. For more information, call (630) 942-4000, or visit www.atthemac.org

DuPage Community Concert Band – 7:30 p.m. May 1

Open to students through adults, the DuPage Community Concert Band performs band repertoire. The May 1 program is titled “Selections from Broadway Musicals.” Tickets: $4.

Guitar Ensemble – 2 p.m. May 3, Studio Theatre

The large guitar ensemble performs 20th century American music. Free.

Chamber Orchestra – 7:30 p.m. May 3,

Open to students through adults, group members perform classical repertoire. Tickets: $4. Small Group Jazz Ensemble – 8 p.m. May 4

The instrumental ensemble performs top-shelf materials from the first century of jazz history. The May 4 concert is a Student Jazz Showcase. Tickets: $4.

Percussion Ensemble – 7:30 p.m. May 8

Ensemble members perform repertoire written specifically for percussions in instruments as well as transcriptions adaptable to percussion. Tickets: $4.

DuPage Community Jazz Ensemble – 1:30 p.m. May 20, K Commons.

Spring Dance. The 20-plus piece big band is dedicated to performing original music and jazz classics. Tickets: $6.
