Bohdan Khomtchouk, the son of Oksana Khomtchouk, Ph.D., of Clarendon Hills, and a senior in the Benedictine University Scholars program majoring in molecular biology/biochemistry, mathematics and physics, will travel to Switzerland this summer to participate in an international research internship at Ecole Polytechnique Federale De Lausanne.

Khomtchouk is one of 25 students worldwide – and one of four in the United States – to be awarded a fellowship at the Swiss government research facility.

Kate Raftery, a resident of La Grange, helped with the Lake Forest College theater department’s spring production of “44 Plays for 44 Presidents.”

The college kicked off a national festival recently, where 44 theaters plan to perform the same production of “44 Presidents,” originally written by Chicago’s Neo-Futurist Theatre Company.

Raftery’s role in the production is wardrobe. Raftery is a graduate of Lyons Township High School North in La Grange.
