Donald Strumillo Jr. of Burr Ridge, has been named to the dean’s list in the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business for outstanding scholarship during the spring 2012 semester.

Alex Vander Linde of Clarendon Hills at University of Notre Dame and his twin sister, Ashley Vander Linde at Texas Christian University, achieved 4.0 grades this semester and deans list status.

Briana Clark, a sophomore from La Grange majoring in communication sciences and disorders is one of Augustana College’s students who is in Cuenca, Ecuador. Clark will return in early July. The students are to live with families while in Cuenca. The host families work with the students to teach them about the culture of Ecuador as well as to encourage the use of Spanish outside of the classroom. Classes are held at the Centers for Interamerican Studies during the week, and weekends offer several excursions.

Augustana College students will travel to Nicaragua for two weeks in July. Students in pre-health fields will work with a combination of physicians from the United States and Nicaragua to provide services in areas of the country which do not have permanent medical facilities.

Alec R. Cangelosi of Burr Ridge, majoring in Psychology, was named by Truman State University to its spring 2012 Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs’ List.

Emily Burnett of Hinsdale participated in Gonzaga University’s graduation exercises during a Commencement Ceremony held recently. Burnett graduated Cum Laude with a bachelor of arts degree in French.

Ashley Soltwisch of Burr Ridge has been named to the current dean’s list at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.

Nick M. Kenney and Brian W. Lorenzk, residents of LaGrange Park, have been named to the dean’s list at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.

Kathryn Pelino of Hinsdale achieved University Honors at the University of Michigan for winter term of the 2011-2012 school year. The designation is awarded to students in the College of Literature, Science and the Arts who earned a 3.5 grade point average or higher. Pelino recently completed her sophomore year and is majoring in sociology.

Meghan S. Callaghan of Western Springs was named by Carthage College as an outstanding scholar to its dean’s list for academic excellence during the spring semester of 2012.

Michael P. Moore, of La Grange earned highest honors distinction from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point for attaining high grade point averages during the spring semester of the 2011-2012 academic year.

Sara C. Lampeter of Clarendon Hills was named by the University of Rhode Island as an undergraduate qualified for the spring 2012 dean’s list.

Peter A. Krivicich of Western Springs was commended by the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences of Northwestern University for having been selected to its dean’s list for fall quarter 2011-12 and winter quarter 2011-12.

Patrick Doyle of Western Springs graduated from the University of San Diego. Doyle earned a bachelor’s degree in communication studies. Doyle completed the requirements for graduation in January and walked in the May ceremony.
